About the position

The Removal & Reinstall Technician at Sunrun plays a crucial role in the solar removal and reinstall construction crew, working closely with the Foreman to ensure the successful execution of residential solar panel projects. This position involves teamwork, technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality in solar installations.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a three man team to remove or reinstall the racking system and solar panels on residential roofs
  • Review inventory at loading dock to ensure assigned crew truck is adequately stocked
  • Layout and assemble solar modules, mechanical and structural mounts, electrical equipment and tools in preparation of installation
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structure, building or support mechanisms
  • Remove and assemble racking, solar modules, panels or support structures as specified in the project plan
  • Maintain a high quality of installation
  • Maintain and communicate supply and equipment issues to properly address all service call needs
  • Maintain regular communication with field performance techs and Performance Call Center
  • Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues
  • Perform project clean up including client site and installation vehicle
  • Ensure personal, crew and job site safety at all times
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous solar, construction or military experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to assist teammates and build strong relationships
