About the position

The Senior Nodal Advisory Consultant at Hitachi Energy will provide expert consulting services in nodal energy markets, focusing on market simulation and analysis. This role involves generating technical reports, conducting market due diligence, and supporting clients in various aspects of energy market advisory, particularly in North America and emerging markets. The consultant will utilize Hitachi Energy's PROMOD simulation model to assist clients with congestion analysis, asset valuation, and project sizing, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in nodal and zonal energy market analysis using the PROMOD simulation modeling tool.
• Track client queries and development items through the client portal and other support channels.
• Provide technical support for database administrators, software developers, and management.
• Contribute to AI/ML and data modeling projects.
• Conduct PROMOD release testing, defect testing, and sprint testing.
• Provide PROMOD client training and create eLearning and help videos.
• Participate in PROMOD roadmap discussions and prioritize defects.
• Conduct pre-sales demos and support demo database creation as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, technology, engineering, or math is required.
• Electrical Engineering degree in power systems is preferred.
• Bachelor's plus 3 years or Master's plus 1 year experience is a plus.
• Strong interest in the energy industry and consulting field.
• Experience with production cost modeling simulation software is a plus.
• Familiarity with publicly available data sources such as FERC and EIA.
• Proficient in Windows skills, software installation, and troubleshooting client issues.
• SQLServer support skills including backup, recovery, and installation.
• Ability to read, understand, and script/code for data analysis using languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with applied machine learning or data science projects.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview, or Power BI.
• Experience with cloud-based systems on Azure or AWS.
