About the position
The Renewable Energy Technician at MCC LFGSP Holdings LLC is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection systems. This role focuses on ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations while providing a unique opportunity for growth in the landfill gas industry. Technicians will work independently in the field, performing routine monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of gas systems, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining communication with supervisors and clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide operations and maintenance services for landfill gas collection systems.
- Monitor system operations for compliance with deadlines and contractual requirements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions.
- Document daily activities and verify corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Follow all company and project safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicles and work areas.
- Respond to after-hours call outs as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- Proficient in Windows and Windows Office software, including Excel and Outlook.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with safe use of hand tools.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to operate all-terrain vehicles in varying conditions.
- Ability to communicate professionally in writing and speech.
- Organized self-starter with initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens and background checks.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous landfill gas system operation experience or education.
- Knowledge of environmental sampling techniques.
- Current OSHA 40 Hr. HAZWOPER certification.
- Pipe fusion certificate.
- Knowledge of basic math, gas chemistry, and piping and instrumentation drawings.
- Electrical, chemical, and mechanical experience.
