About the position

The RNG Plant Manager is responsible for managing the Landfill Gas to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Facility to maximize production while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and timely maintenance. This role acts as a plant owner, overseeing operations and coordinating with landfill management. The position requires operating and maintaining specialized gas processing equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the RNG Facility to maximize production and ensure safe work practices.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and timely maintenance of the facility.
  • Coordinate with landfill management and operations for effective facility management.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced level Instrument and Control repair, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Capture data and evaluate actions for optimized plant performance within budget constraints.
  • Organize and manage small to large scale plant outages and projects with attention to detail.
  • Lead and coordinate all 3rd party vendors for scheduled maintenance and compliance issues.
  • Inspect plant machinery and equipment, performing necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Implement safety policies and practices for all work activities and ensure compliance by all personnel.
  • Procure plant supplies and manage the annual budget efficiently.
  • Respond to plant shutdowns during non-business hours and diagnose issues promptly.
  • Maintain facility spare inventory and provide written inventory counts twice annually.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in a plant operations or maintenance environment required.
  • Valid Driver License required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of computer data entry and interpretation.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% with overnight stays.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair DC circuits 12/24 volts.
  • Basic knowledge of 120/240/480 3-phase volt AC circuits.
  • Ability to understand complex processes and demonstrate action-based thinking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous RNG Operations or Gas processing experience.
  • Experience in pipeline operations, gas compression, and gas conditioning.
  • Controls and programming knowledge.
  • Landfill gas collections experience.
  • Automotive or Heavy Equipment technician experience.
  • Refrigeration or HVAC experience.
  • Skilled in P&ID or electrical drawing interpretation.
  • Project management experience.
