About the position

As a Renewal Underwriter at Risk Placement Services, you will play a crucial role in the risk management process by underwiting individual insurance applications for property and casualty coverage. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate insurance applications based on established guidelines for issuing policies, whether on a standard or substandard basis. This involves a thorough assessment of various factors, including the property's value, location, usage, safety features, and any other pertinent information that influences the underwriting decision. You will be expected to determine whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk based on your evaluations. In this position, you will maintain frequent contact with field representatives to gather necessary information that supports and justifies your underwriting decisions. It is important to note that this role does not have any assigned production goals, allowing you to focus on the quality of your assessments rather than quantity.
