About the position

The Rental Account Manager at Ryder is responsible for driving rental sales and marketing efforts at the business unit level, focusing on B2B relationships. This role aims to generate profitable new accounts while retaining existing ones, ultimately contributing to rental revenue growth and improved profitability. The position requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to connect with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits.
  • Assess customer needs and develop proposals using product knowledge.
  • Work with rental operations to ensure equipment availability.
  • Market at the branch level and train rental sales representatives in telemarketing techniques.
  • Maintain contact with customers through visits and phone calls to ensure quality service and handle complaints.
  • Schedule retention visits to long-term rental customers to maintain relationships.
  • Manage proposal and contract development, customer files, and follow-up correspondence.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer data in the DPS system and handle collections of receivables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent job-related experience (5 years).
  • One year or more of sales experience or equivalent sales training required.
  • Three years or more of sales experience preferred.
  • One year or more of industry experience preferred.
