About the position

The Rental Coordinator at Carter Machinery Company is responsible for coordinating and processing rental agreements for Caterpillar and allied equipment. This role supports the Rental team through various administrative tasks and is essential for the daily operations of the rental business, ensuring sales and profit targets are met. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process rental agreements for customer rentals of Caterpillar and allied equipment.
• Perform general administrative tasks in support of the Rental team.
• Promote a positive customer experience and build solid relationships with clients.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Understand and practice effective sales techniques.
• Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest.
• Utilize computer skills, including Microsoft products and rental software programs.
• Work additional hours to meet customer and business demands.
• Multitask and prioritize tasks with competing demands.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the equipment rental industry preferred.
• Demonstrated results in a customer service role.
• Exceptional customer satisfaction skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
• Technical aptitude to understand equipment applications.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts accurately.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products and ability to learn rental software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Caterpillar's Dealer Business System (DBS) is a plus.
