About the position

The Rental Field Operations Manager (RFOM) is responsible for leading operational performance and profitability in the assigned rental markets of central Florida. This role focuses on enhancing safety measures, customer service, and operational metrics by empowering and educating the team. The RFOM acts as the operational leader, ensuring that all associates and customers are safe and that the rental fleet is ready for use.

Responsibilities

  • Drives overall operations of the region, including personnel management, equipment maintenance and repair, rental performance of the fleet, and revenue and expense control.
  • Supports Regional Rental Manager with the hiring and training of support staff.
  • Evaluates operational success through customer care and manages regional brand awareness by building relationships with districts, stores, and field rental team associates.
  • Manages equipment maintenance and repair for the region to maximize rental-readiness and utilization of equipment.
  • Promotes a safety culture through appropriate training and communication.
  • Manages operational compliance of all tech work performed in the region, including inspections and equipment deliveries.
  • Ensures technicians execute tasks for down equipment and open inspections.
  • Drives sales and customer service behaviors with all associates to ensure quality service to all HD Rental customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • 3+ years of management experience, preferably in the rental industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to performance manage a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and performance reporting.
  • General knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology such as smartphones and tablets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in the rental industry is a plus.
  • Ability to respond to customer inquiries and exceed expectations.
  • Working knowledge of key categories of rental equipment.
