About the position

The Rental & Inside Sales Manager at Gregory Poole Equipment Company is responsible for overseeing the Rental Division sales staff, focusing on the profitable rental and inside sales of Caterpillar Compact Construction Equipment and allied equipment. This role involves hands-on management of the sales team, developing sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving profitability goals. The manager will also collaborate with factory representatives and assist in the development of annual business and marketing plans.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage activities for the Rental Division sales staff.
  • Develop sales strategies and tactics that support short and long-range goals.
  • Assist in the development of marketing plans and establish market share and revenue projections.
  • Grow rental services volume while maintaining Heavy rents volume.
  • Develop KPIs for rental representatives and establish monthly metrics and reviews.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and Rental Operations Manager to achieve rental sales growth plans.
  • Maintain records of sales activities and forecast market trends.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to the sales staff to ensure progress toward sales goals.
  • Develop ongoing sales training processes for the sales team.
  • Monitor sales activities and approve sales commission payments.
  • Establish and monitor rental sales pricing structure and manage pricing adjustments.
  • Review and analyze customer sales accounts to maximize rental sales.
  • Manage daily Rental Sales procedures and processes.
  • Work with Key Account Manager to manage Major Account Customer Rental Pricing program.
  • Maintain market awareness to maximize sales staff effectiveness.
  • Assist in packaging products and maximizing marketing plan effectiveness.
  • Oversee the inside sales team in handling quotes and retail business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field, or an Associate's degree with 2 additional years of direct rental sales management experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction or industrial equipment sales or rentals.
  • At least 3 years of group leadership experience preferred.
  • Intermediate/proficient skill level in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
