About the position

The Rep HR ETime and Compensation Services role is focused on providing support and communication regarding payroll processes and timekeeping for employees and timekeepers within the Metro Nashville Public Schools district. This position serves as a subject matter expert, assisting with training, troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate payroll processing for substitute teachers and other staff. The role is essential in maintaining compliance with payroll regulations and facilitating effective communication between various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Communicates payroll schedules and special processing information to timekeepers and employees.
• Assists with timekeeper training and mandatory annual training on timekeeping software.
• Acts as a subject matter expert for timekeepers regarding time entry and software troubleshooting.
• Provides explanations to employees about pay, pay checks, and pay adjustments.
• Monitors grant-funded labor charges and reports totals to the Accounting Department.
• Audits accruals for negative balances and reconciles with timekeepers.
• Compiles and retains required payroll documentation.
• Notifies manager of changes in timekeepers and back-up timekeepers.
• Acts as a liaison between timekeepers and HC Resource Center to reconcile employee data errors.
• Maintains and processes substitute payroll and bonus pay.
• Provides instruction and support for special stipend payment processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in payroll and/or timekeeping for a large company using payroll software (e.g., Kronos, ADP).
• Working knowledge of DOL Wage and Hour laws.
