About the position

The Repair Center Planner at Metso is responsible for implementing strategic planning within the Repair Center team. This role involves coordinating labor and material resources, tracking production planning, and ensuring effective communication across the organization. The Planner will work in a dynamic environment, adapting to variable production settings while collaborating with various departments to meet customer deadlines and optimize resource usage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with prioritization, organization, and communication within the repair department.
  • Analyze capacity and monitor resource usage and balance.
  • Adapt to a highly variable production setting with positive collaboration and team spirit.
  • Work in a time-sensitive setting with tight deadlines.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities within the Repair center scope.
  • Read and understand basic prints/drawings to ensure accuracy of work performed.
  • Prepare daily Work in Progress tracking devices that communicate progress and delivery expectations to both employees and management.
  • Assist in planning all aspects of production along multiple time-horizons, considering Key Performance Indicators, resource availability, customer demand, shipment delays, and capacity.
  • Track and investigate current and past projects as assigned.
  • Identify overrun or underutilization of resources and propose solutions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Sr Planner, technical staff, supervisors, and production staff to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in the implementation of methods, tools, and performance indicators for optimal resource use.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure proper execution as assigned.
  • Create and maintain job packets or travelers.
  • Track project progress and cost; identify potential increases in scope and price of projects as they are being processed.
  • Assist in scheduling all production for the shop with collaboration from Sr Planner to meet customer deadlines.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings with management, PMs, engineers, and supervisors to collaborate on all REP jobs internal and externally.
  • Compile Estimated Billings information and updates as assigned.
  • Follow up with vendors to assure delivery dates will be met.
  • Perform other miscellaneous tasks and special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in mining equipment repair, manufacturing, or design.
  • Experience with SAP software.
  • General understanding of technical drawings.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Project.
  • Professionalism and positive attitude is necessary.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and action multiple tasks.
  • Great negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to track multiple projects and coordinate with supervisor's needs.
  • Talent for working effectively with others, including fellow employees, customers, and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license.
