About the position
The Repair Technician role involves working within a small team to repair mechanical seals used in oil and soy fields. The position requires both hands-on mechanical skills and computer work for inventory management and parts ordering. The technician will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and polishing seal parts, ensuring they meet specifications.
Responsibilities
- Repair broken/defective mechanical seals received from local oil/soy fields.
- Enter received product into QAD computer systems.
- Order parts needed for repairs.
- Disassemble seals using hand/power tools and move parts to the cleaning bay.
- Clean parts and polish them flush using a buffer.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and a comparator to determine issues and specifications.
- Read and interpret specifications from large screen blueprints.
Requirements
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Proficient in computer work, specifically with warehouse management system software.
