About the position

The Replenishment Specialist at Nassau Candy is responsible for managing the supply of specialty food products to meet customer demand. This role involves performing replenishment buying, analyzing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to ensure optimal inventory management and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform replenishment buying for perishable products.
• Run inventory usage reports and determine replenishment needs.
• Analyze inventory levels versus current order activity, trends, and market demand.
• Develop promotional and sales strategies with the Gourmet Foods Buyer.
• Obtain key information from vendors for each item purchased, including UPC codes, weights, pallet configurations, pack sizes, prices, deals, lead times, shipping methods, product handling requirements, promotions, and terms.
• Responsible for food safety and communicating potential food safety issues.
• Liaison with Sales on products, promotions, and special offerings.
• May perform other duties and participate in other projects as required by the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing in the manufacturing or distribution industry.
• Knowledge of gourmet and specialty food products preferred.
• Knowledge of Inventory Control procedures.
• Highly detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and busy work environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.
