The Multimedia Journalist Reporter is responsible for producing, reporting, shooting, writing, voicing, editing, and feeding news production content across all platforms. This role requires a clear, engaging, and meaningful approach to news delivery, ensuring that the content resonates with news consumers. The reporter will cover a variety of news stories, providing detailed descriptions of events and their backgrounds, while also arranging interviews with individuals who can provide valuable insights into the stories being reported. In addition to reporting, the Multimedia Journalist will review and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, adhering to prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines. The role involves evaluating notes taken during events to isolate pertinent facts and details, determining the emphasis, length, and format of stories, and organizing material accordingly. Research and analysis of background information related to news stories are crucial to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information provided. The reporter will gather information through various means, including research, interviews, and attendance at events such as political, news, sports, artistic, and social functions. They will pitch relevant stories to news managers and producers, receive assignments, and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas. Collaboration with producers and news managers is essential to establish priorities and positions on various issues. The Multimedia Journalist will also check reference materials to obtain relevant facts, revise work to meet editorial approval, and produce and present reports for all platforms. Ensuring that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality is a key responsibility. Additionally, the reporter will write stories for web and other eMedia platforms, interact with viewers and users on social media, and perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
