About the position

As a dedicated Reporting Analyst Senior at USAA, you will play a crucial role in supporting business processes and data-driven decision-making through the creation and modification of reports. This position requires a deep understanding of the business and its customers, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering value through data analysis and reporting, adapting to the changing needs of the business. The role involves facilitating complex business projects, ensuring that stakeholders have the necessary data to make informed decisions. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of unique business solutions, which may include data, reporting, business intelligence, or analytics. Your expertise in data structures and sources will be essential as you manipulate complex data using advanced extraction and analytical tools. In this position, you will recognize the connection between business operations and analytics, influencing strategies and solutions. You will develop innovative reporting and storytelling approaches to address business challenges, ensuring that operational reports are complete, accurate, and compliant with all reporting requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate inputs from multiple sources, synthesizing data and creating qualitative commentary that captures key messages. A critical aspect of your role will be to identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates business projects of high complexity, size, and visibility ensuring stakeholders champion decision-making data needs.
  • Leads or directs the design, development, and implementation of complex business solutions, including data, reporting, business intelligence, or analytics.
  • Utilizes a comprehensive understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead complex data manipulation using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Recognizes the connection between business operations and analytics to influence business strategies and solutions.
  • Develops innovative reporting and storytelling approaches to address business problems and solutions.
  • Ensures operational reports are complete, deliver accurate data, and comply with all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates inputs from multiple sources, synthesizes data/information, and creates qualitative commentary capturing key messages.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of experience in data analysis/extraction, statistics, data management, analytics, and/or data reporting.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of data reporting/analysis tools and techniques, including SQL and Microsoft Excel for creating pivot tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance, risk management, and data security frameworks.
  • Experience in creating automated reports and interactive visualizations using tools such as Python and Tableau.
