About the position

The Reporting and Data Science Consultant will work within the Knowledge, Innovation and Communication (KIC) department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This role focuses on enhancing data reporting and analytics capabilities, acting as a technical liaison for data processing, report generation, and dashboard creation. The consultant will collaborate with various teams to gather requirements, design user-centric reports, and ensure data integrity while contributing to the organization's mission of improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities

• Gather reports and dashboard requirements from power users (administrators).
• Elaborate reports and dashboards with a user-centric design perspective.
• Extract data from current automated reports and raw data from base systems using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, R, or Python.
• Design workflows for Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) processes.
• Coordinate data and information interoperability with the IT department for ETL processing.
• Enhance data collection procedures to include relevant information for building analytic systems.
• Collaborate with data governance efforts.
• Identify data errors and patterns and perform data analytics for various purposes.
• Generate technical documentation related to data processing and other activities.
• Provide advice on process improvement.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data analytics or data science.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
• Experience with statistical analysis tools such as R, Python, or Octave.
