About the position

The Reports Developer position focuses on creating and optimizing SQL reports from various relational databases. The role requires extensive experience in data integration, ETL processes, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The developer will work with Microsoft tools such as SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI to ensure robust data models and reporting solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Create and fine-tune SQL reports from data stored in relational databases.
• Design robust Logical Data Models and ensure alignment with larger roadmap goals.
• Develop, debug, and support complex data integration interfaces and processes.
• Develop ETL scripts and write code based on data models and technical design specifications.
• Participate in requirements elicitation and analysis, including joint application design sessions with business users.
• Prepare business process workflows, use cases, and logical data models for reports.
• Monitor report performance and take corrective actions to optimize performance.
• Execute and test batch jobs for enterprise-wide systems.

Requirements

• At least five (5) years of experience as a reports developer creating SQL reports.
• Experience designing and developing data integration processes using SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL, and SQL Server.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience with Microsoft products/tools such as Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
• At least two (2) years of experience executing and testing batch jobs for large systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing SQL Reports for a Pension Administration System or large state systems.
• Three (3) or more years of experience with requirement elicitation methodologies.
• Experience in Data Integration, Data Conversion, and ETL.
• Experience with source code management software like Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Experience producing Reports Specification documents and test scenarios.
• Three (3) or more years using Test Application Lifecycle Management tools like HP ALM or Jama.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server Replication Services.
• Experience working with large tables and creating test data sets.
