The Reptile Caretaker / Inventory Manager position at Northwest Zoological involves overseeing the care of ball pythons and managing inventory tasks. Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and handling of reptiles ensuring the highest standards of health.
• Perform weekly feeding and cleaning of enclosures.
• Follow snake intake protocol including taking photos, weighing, labeling, and treatment for pests.
• Collect and organize animal data and input into inventory software.
• Monitor and complete snake (and tarantula) inventories including accurate physical counts and tracking.
• Examine animals to detect behavioral changes or clinical symptoms that could indicate illness or injury.
• Administer medication as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments or equipment.
• Provide emergency first aid to sick or injured animals.
• Provide assistance with euthanasia of animals or disposal of corpses.
• Dust, spray, or bathe animals to control insect pests.

Requirements

• Experience handling and caring for pet snakes.
• Experience in medication administration (1 year preferred).
• Strong organizational skills.
