About the position

The Requirements Engineer position is focused on providing systems engineering and integration support for the Space Launch System (SLS) at the MSFC Systems Requirements & Verification Branch. The role involves coordinating with various engineering disciplines, participating in reviews and meetings, and developing key systems engineering products to ensure mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of key systems engineering products including Concept of Operations and Mission-Specific Requirements.
  • Assess and document the design and its alignment with missions, verifying mission-specific requirements.
  • Conduct analyses to support program/project milestones and subsequent activities.
  • Provide technical integration with other engineering disciplines and SLS elements, ensuring risk-based oversight through requirement traceability.
  • Support system level vehicle design trades and analysis to validate requirements and maintain design baseline control.
  • Assist in requirement verification and validation (V&V) planning, execution, coordination, and integration for system level requirements.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks related to products and processes in the systems engineering domain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in systems engineering and integration processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with NASA projects or similar aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with risk management systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of vehicle design trades and analysis.
