About the position

Parsons is seeking a Requirements System Engineer to support the Missile Track Custody (MTC) program for the US Space Force. This role involves managing and developing requirements throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with operational needs and project objectives. The position offers a mostly remote work environment with some onsite support required in Boulder, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and document requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements to ensure alignment with operational needs and project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive requirements documentation including requirements traceability metrics, system specifications, and System Requirements Document (SRD).
  • Manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Develop and execute plans to validate and verify requirements, ensuring they meet technical standards and operational needs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of requirements, validation processes, and outcomes.
  • Leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to model and simulate system architectures, requirements, and interfaces.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to OPIR systems and requirements management.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analysis, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, requirements analysis, or requirements management roles.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).
  • Proficiency in using requirements management software (e.g. JIRA, JAMA, etc.).
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools for modeling complex systems throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience using agile framework development methods and processes.
  • Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of OPIR experience.
  • Advanced degree in systems engineering.
  • Relevant systems engineering certifications (ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
