About the position
The Research Account Specialist at Purdue University will manage the budget and grant management aspects of the Indiana GEAR UP program within the College of Education. This role involves preparing budget projections, coordinating reporting processes, and maintaining fiscal and administrative controls to ensure compliance with University and sponsor policies. The specialist will act as a liaison with various stakeholders and provide specialized assistance to support investigators and the college.
Responsibilities
- Manage budget and grant management aspects of the Indiana GEAR UP program.
- Prepare budget projections and coordinate reporting processes.
- Maintain fiscal and administrative controls to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison with participants, program partners, sponsors, subcontractors, and other University offices.
- Assist with answering key fiscal questions on behalf of the principal investigator.
- Provide specialized assistance to support investigators and coworkers.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field.
- One year of account management, financial management or related experience.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management and customer service skills.
- Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce.
- Learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes.
- Personal computer and related software skills.
- Strong quantitative skills with ability to synthesize complex information.
Nice-to-haves
- 2+ years experience with grant management.
- Purdue business office experience.
