About the position
The Research Administration Analyst at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) plays a crucial role in the pre and post-award administration of various grants and contracts. This position is part of The Saban Research Institute's central Research Services Team, focusing on providing expert support to Principal Investigators (PIs) in proposal development, submission, and award negotiation. The Analyst is responsible for monitoring fiscal performance, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements, all while serving as a liaison between the institution and sponsoring agencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Principal Investigators (PIs) in the development, submission, and review of proposals.
- Monitor fiscal performance on projects and prepare, review, and process financial transactions.
- Ensure timely invoicing, financial reporting, and close-out of grants/contracts.
- Act as the point of contact for sponsoring agencies and serve as a liaison for the institution.
- Handle specific grant and audit issues with integrity and provide action-oriented support to PIs.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of research administration, legal, or contracting experience in an academic setting.
- Experience working with both grants and contracts in a hospital or university setting.
- Ability to pull data and conduct analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a strong service orientation.
