About the position

The Research Administration Assistant at the University of Florida plays a crucial role in supporting post-award management and reporting, payroll and effort management, and pre-award administration. This position involves close collaboration with departmental research administrators and faculty to ensure compliance with research administration guidelines and efficient management of sponsored research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with post-award management and daily monitoring of activities such as budget transfers, incremental funding releases, and subaward monitoring.
  • Enter payroll distributions and manage effort reporting in collaboration with other departmental research administrators.
  • Aid in preparing proposals by gathering required documents and tracking various documentation.
  • Manage and organize emails from a shared inbox, ensuring proper direction and electronic filing of communications.
  • Approve reimbursements, requisitions, and travel expenses charged to sponsored accounts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience or equivalent college coursework.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff.
