About the position

The Research Administration Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting post-award management and reporting, payroll and effort management, and pre-award administration within the research department. This position involves close collaboration with faculty and other research administrators to ensure compliance with established procedures and effective management of sponsored research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with post-award management and daily monitoring of activities such as budget transfers and subaward monitoring.
  • Enter payroll distributions and manage effort reporting in collaboration with departmental RA's.
  • Aid in preparing proposals by gathering required documents and tracking documentation.
  • Manage and organize emails from a shared inbox, ensuring proper filing and direction to appropriate individuals.
  • Approve reimbursements, requisitions, and travel expenses charged to sponsored accounts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and four years of relevant experience or equivalent college coursework in place of experience.
  • Proficiency in office applications including PeopleSoft, Adobe applications, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
