About the position

The Research Administration Business Analyst (RABA) at Stevens Institute of Technology will be instrumental in enhancing the access and utilization of systems and data to support informed decision-making within the research enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Electronic Research Administration (DERA), the RABA will collaborate closely with the VP for Research and Innovation to develop strategies for resource allocation that align with the strategic research objectives of the campus. This role is pivotal in transforming the current research administration processes by implementing the new InfoEd eRA system, transitioning from the existing Coeus software. The RABA will conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes, perform gap analyses, and focus on business process improvements. This includes eliciting requirements from stakeholders, preparing functional business requirement documentation, and configuring the new system to meet these requirements. Additionally, the RABA will be responsible for creating technical documentation, developing testing plans, and executing tests on the system's functions, integrations, and reports. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Information Technology (IT) staff to elevate the availability and interpretation of research systems and data, ensuring that Stevens maintains its status as a leading research university.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing business processes and perform gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement the new InfoEd eRA system, transitioning from the Coeus research administration software.
  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders and prepare functional business requirement documentation.
  • Configure the InfoEd eRA system to meet the identified requirements.
  • Create technical documentation and develop testing plans for the new system.
  • Perform testing of the functions, integrations, and reports generated by the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in research administration preferred.
