About the position

The Research Administration Management Analyst at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center plays a crucial role in overseeing the planning and administration of the Center for Cancer Metabolism (CCM) program. This position involves initial and ongoing planning, team support, implementation, controls, tracking, evaluation, and reporting for program administration. The analyst will assist the center's director in executing program administration and achieving specific aims, while also developing scientific expertise in new areas as needed. In this role, the analyst will lead and manage projects related to the development of the CCM program, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. They will manage multiple project constraints and lead troubleshooting processes to identify solutions for issues that arise during daily operations and long-term planning. Building and maintaining partnerships with department administrators, CCC administrators, and faculty leaders is essential for the success of the program. The analyst will oversee the preparation of written summaries of program and research design, procedures, measures, and data analyses. They will also manage recruitment and retention practices for CCM laboratory members, assist with job requisitions, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and strategize retention and promotion plans for current employees. Additionally, the analyst will respond to changes in CCM program plans driven by project results or events, assign resources, and provide support as needed. Developing presentations and presenting material at conferences, as well as writing, editing, and submitting program and scientific communications, are key responsibilities. The analyst will collaborate with junior investigators, post-doctoral researchers, graduate students, and technicians on scientific techniques and the submission of grant applications and journal articles. They will also manage CCM engagement programming, contribute to outreach efforts, and lead faculty recruitment activities, ensuring a smooth process for applicants and coordination with CCC leadership.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology is required.
  • 2 years of clinical research and/or laboratory experience required; project management experience desired.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in research, including writing grants and peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Expert knowledge and professional experience in the field of cell biology and/or cancer biology is desired.
