About the position

The Research Administrative Assistant at Dartmouth College plays a crucial role in supporting the research mission of the department. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks related to research proposals, both pre- and post-award, and assists with non-technical aspects of research activities. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting faculty with research-related management tasks, including pre- and post-award support for traineeship grants.
  • Assisting with purchasing lab equipment or supplies and managing research-related shipping.
  • Tracking and disposal of capital equipment related to research and supporting the administration of research-related seminars.
  • Organizing and coordinating workshops and conferences as needed.
  • Administering research webpages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for gathering information and contributions from staff, faculty, and students.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and maintain attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree with 2 years of experience or a high school diploma with 4 years of experience.
