About the position

The Research Administrative Coordinator for the School of Medicine Ophthalmology (Girard Lab) plays a crucial role in supporting the Ophthalmic Engineering & Innovation Laboratory. This position involves coordinating various routine activities associated with research projects, ensuring data maintenance, adherence to grant expenditures, and facilitating communication among team members and external stakeholders. The coordinator will work within a diverse team dedicated to advancing research in medical imaging, AI, and data management in ophthalmology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating routine activities associated with a research project including data maintenance and grant expenditure adherence.
  • Evaluate project progress and assist in scheduling meetings.
  • Interface with research subjects and perform light clerical duties.
  • Control equipment and supplies necessary for the lab.
  • Review literature for related research developments and compile findings into reports.
  • Serve as a project liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies, and product representatives.
  • Supervise other staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science discipline, business management, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
