The Research Administrator II at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences plays a crucial role in supporting research activities by assisting in proposal development, submission, and post-award management. This position is responsible for administering a portfolio of sponsored awards, coordinating large collaborative grants, and fostering a culture that encourages the acquisition of extramural support for research. The role involves working closely with faculty and junior staff to ensure compliance and effective management of research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Administer a portfolio of broad and moderately complex sponsored awards.
  • Work with faculty to develop sponsored proposals.
  • Manage post-award compliance activities.
  • Serve as a resource to junior level research administration staff.
  • Assist school management with other assigned program operation functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' experience in research administration.
  • Knowledge of funding agencies and their programs.
  • Understanding of regulations governing federal research funding and related compliance areas.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet.
  • Proficient with electronic grants management systems (e.g., grants.gov, NIH eRA Commons, NSF Fastlane, ProposalCentral) or ability to learn these systems.
