About the position

As a US Packaged Food Analyst at UBS, you will play a crucial role in the Global Research team based in New York. Your primary responsibilities will involve assessing the value and risk of various companies within the packaged food sector. You will work closely with Senior analysts, assisting in the construction, accuracy, and maintenance of detailed financial models specific to individual companies. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you draft comprehensive research reports that will be distributed to the UBS sales force and clients. You will analyze industry data to identify current and long-term trends, providing investment recommendations based on earnings projections, valuation, and risk assessments. Additionally, you will conduct extensive valuation analyses on stocks within your sector, create exhibits and presentations for sales and clients, and update and maintain analyst marketing presentations. Effective communication with both institutional and internal clients will be essential as you convey your investment recommendations and ideas. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the construction, accuracy, and maintenance of detailed company-specific financial models.
  • Draft individual company and sector-wide research reports for distribution to the UBS sales force and clients.
  • Analyze industry data to describe current and long-term trends.
  • Provide investment recommendations based on earnings projections, valuation, and risk assessment.
  • Conduct extensive valuation analysis on stocks in a given sector.
  • Create exhibits and presentations for sales and clients.
  • Update and maintain analyst marketing presentations.
  • Communicate with both institutional clients and internal clients to convey investment recommendations and ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Finance, Economics, or Accounting; MBA preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in the evaluation of companies is an advantage.
  • Top-notch customer service focus and attitude for client engagement.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Good handle on accounting, including reviewing and interpreting annual reports and financial statements; training will be provided on the job.
  • Solid know-how of Microsoft Excel; understanding other programming languages is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to educate through the creation of innovative models, reports, and presentations.
  • Inquisitive, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
