About the position

The Research Analyst/Associate position at the Center for the Study of Services (CSS) involves reviewing survey materials, ensuring data quality, and learning to write SQL queries for data analysis. The role is essential in supporting healthcare survey research and contributing to the organization's mission of providing valuable information to consumers. This hybrid position requires commuting to the Washington, DC office three times a week and offers a collaborative work environment focused on professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Review survey materials, data files, and reports for quality assurance.
• Learn to write SQL queries to process and analyze large data files.
• Design print, web, and telephone surveys.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with coursework or experience demonstrating analytical and organizational ability for Research Analyst.
• A master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus two years of applicable experience for Research Associate.
• Fundamental technical skills using spreadsheets.
• Experience with statistical software such as R, STATA, SAS, or similar packages is a plus.
• Ability to become proficient in writing SQL queries and procedures.
• Previous coursework or experience in programming, database development, or SQL is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and responsiveness to clients and colleagues.
