About the position

The job performs routine assignments related to scientific research projects for the Chong Lab within the Section of Transplantation at UChicago Medicine. This section has a rich history of surgical excellence, including pioneering achievements in organ transplantation. The role is crucial in ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates related to research activities. The individual will analyze possible solutions using standard procedures and will be responsible for writing articles, reports, and manuscripts, as well as assisting in drafting presentations on research findings. In this position, the individual will maintain technical and administrative support for a research project, which includes analyzing and maintaining data and/or specimens, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents. The role also involves installing, setting up, and performing experiments while interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator. Additionally, the individual will maintain recruiting and scheduling research subjects, assist with developing or amending study protocols, and help in building databases while providing general administrative support. A general awareness of research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and the relevant scientific field is essential. The position may also require performing other related work as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
