About the position

Mathematica is seeking a highly organized Research Analyst to contribute to and support research on programs and policies for individuals with disabilities. This role is integral to a project team, where the Research Analyst will actively participate in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies and programs. The position involves facilitating both virtual and in-person meetings to assess participant progress against established milestones, ensuring that project objectives are met effectively and efficiently. In this capacity, the Research Analyst will be responsible for authoring various project documents, including reports, memos, technical assistance tools, issue briefs, and presentations for webinars. The role also requires participation in decisions regarding monitoring design and methodology, as well as reviewing policy, program, and data documentation to develop technical specifications for analyses. The Research Analyst will provide logistical and operational support, assisting with the planning of complex projects, managing schedules and finances, and delivering high-quality outputs that align with Mathematica's client objectives. Additionally, the Research Analyst will compile and track information using spreadsheets and databases, such as Salesforce, Microsoft SharePoint, and Excel, and will report actionable findings to the project team and clients. This position is contingent upon the successful award of work, and if selected, the anticipated start date is early September 2024. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate virtual and in-person meetings to monitor and assess participant progress against pre-determined milestones.
  • Author project reports, memos, technical assistance tools, issue briefs, and webinar presentations.
  • Participate in decisions regarding monitoring design and methodology.
  • Review policy, program, and/or data documentation to develop technical specifications for analyses.
  • Provide logistical and operational support to assist with planning complex and diverse projects and tasks, managing schedules and finances, and executing high-quality deliverables.
  • Compile and track information in spreadsheets and databases and report action-oriented findings to the project team and clients.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically multiple times per year.
  • Willingness to undergo a background investigation to obtain public trust security clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain observations and findings to diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail; flexibility to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Experience with Excel, SharePoint, CRM tools, and collaborative tools such as Atlassian Confluence or Jira.
  • Aptitude for proactive problem-solving.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves
