About the position

Thomas & Reed, LLC (T&R) is seeking a Market Research Analyst to join our team at the Rural Export Center, part of the International Trade Administration, located in Fargo, North Dakota. This position is pivotal in delivering high-quality, thorough market research reports and training to support rural companies in their export endeavors. The Market Research Analyst will work closely with the Market Research Program Manager and other specialists to ensure that the agency's visibility and quality of service are maintained in all client interactions. The role requires a commitment to excellence, professionalism, and quality client service, aligning with our firm’s mission that "Our Client's Success is our Success." In this role, the Market Research Analyst will be responsible for preparing comprehensive market research reports in a timely manner, utilizing project management tools and high-quality research tools, including those available in the Common Data Platform. The analyst will also co-deliver research results directly to clients, ensuring that findings are clear, actionable, and aligned with agency programs and services. Additionally, the analyst will support the development and improvement of training content, co-delivering training seminars and webinars for clients, and providing necessary tools to local specialists for effective event planning. This position requires a proactive approach to generating positive testimonials regarding the quality and benefits of the research conducted, as well as maintaining extensive documentation of research requests and updates.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality and thorough market research reports in a timely manner.
  • Support the overall quality and visibility of the agency in client interactions.
  • Co-deliver research results directly to clients at critical points in each project's process.
  • Evaluate and recommend additional data tools useful for the research process.
  • Support the development and improvement of training content for seminars and webinars.
  • Co-deliver training seminars for clients under the direction of the Market Research Manager.
  • Provide tools to local specialists for effective event planning, including budget and travel considerations.
  • Maintain extensive written documentation of research requests and updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or economics or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in market research, preferably export market research.
  • Proven market research skills with excellent analytical and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft tools: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience leading seminars geared toward business owners with high-quality oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Private sector experience, including private sector exporting experience.
  • Experience in adult instructional methods.
