The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research at Indiana University School of Medicine is dedicated to conducting basic science and translational research aimed at addressing critical issues related to childhood illnesses. The center is home to over 200 faculty members, staff, and trainees who collaborate to enhance our understanding of the causes and mechanisms behind serious pediatric diseases. The overarching goal is to innovate diagnostic and treatment approaches for sick children both in Indiana and beyond. The Peltier Lab, a part of this esteemed center, is currently seeking a highly motivated and dependable Career Research Analyst. This role is pivotal in studying the regulation of immunity by long noncoding RNAs, with a specific focus on how these RNAs influence T cells that lead to acute graft-versus-host disease following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of laboratory tasks, including conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments, performing routine molecular biology techniques, and assisting with mouse colony maintenance. The position also involves collaboration with other team members and providing guidance to junior staff, ensuring a supportive and productive laboratory environment. In addition to experimental work, the Research Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and processing research data, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The role requires a commitment to quality and professionalism, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced research setting. The Research Analyst will also participate in laboratory meetings and may assist with grant applications to secure funding for ongoing research projects.
