About the position

The Research Analyst II at ECRI will play a crucial role in conducting rapid and in-depth evidence assessments related to various clinical interventions. This position involves writing focused evidence assessments and supporting systematic evidence reviews by critically evaluating research methods and statistical findings. The role requires strong communication skills to produce evidence reports and present findings to diverse audiences, contributing to informed decision-making in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rapid and in-depth evidence assessments covering a wide range of clinical interventions for various decision makers.
  • Produce high-quality systematic evidence reviews of moderate complexity in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Apply understanding of established systematic review processes, including developing report scope and protocol, screening clinical literature, and assessing study risk of bias.
  • Utilize the PICOTS framework to select appropriate studies for inclusion and abstract data from relevant studies.
  • Analyze and interpret data from clinical literature and assess quality of evidence using GRADE or AHRQ systems.
  • Document sources for all facts and information used in reports, utilizing internal citation system workflows.
  • Incorporate peer review feedback to revise assessments after internal and/or external review.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to present and discuss evidence review findings.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years experience in critically appraising published literature and performing systematic review work for healthcare decision makers.
  • Detail-oriented with strong writing skills and familiarity with evidence-based medicine and systematic review processes.
  • Experience with the PICOTS framework and understanding of clinical trial designs.
  • Ability to write accurately and clearly for various healthcare stakeholders and implement peer review critiques.
  • Experience performing evidence synthesis and presenting research findings to clients or colleagues.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods of synthesizing data and interpreting results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with literature screening software packages.
  • Experience with meta-analytic and other statistical software packages.
  • Experience writing grant and/or proposals under tight deadlines.
