About the position

The Research Analyst III position in Bioanalytical Chemistry focuses on providing quantitative analysis of drug compounds in biological samples. This role involves developing and validating analytical methodologies, performing sample analysis, and interpreting data in compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires effective communication, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently perform and document all procedures, materials, and results in compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills through informal discussions with peers, supervisor, and team.
  • Assist with laboratory maintenance functions and support functions such as labeling and solution preparations.
  • Independently maintain study-specific inventory of consumables.
  • Independently write both study and non-study deviations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Develop and maintain critical thinking, troubleshooting, and time management skills aligned with operational needs.
  • Independently execute routine sample analysis studies and method validation projects.
  • Operate laboratory instruments with minimal oversight.
  • Perform data analysis in appropriate software for a majority of analytical platforms within the operational area.
  • Assist with laboratory investigations, assay troubleshooting, and quality observations with minimal oversight.
  • Prepare paperwork for routine production work.
  • Assist project lead for sample analysis and validation studies with oversight as needed.
  • Assist with training of new staff members for minimal functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a technical laboratory role.
  • HPLC experience required; LC/MS/MS experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills, including the ability to learn a validated system.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extra shifts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with laboratory robotics for bioanalytical data delivery.
  • Knowledge of GxP and applicable SOPs.
