About the position

The Research Analyst/Institutional Trader role at Lincoln Investment involves managing day-to-day portfolio operations for discretionary portfolios, building and maintaining model portfolios, and conducting fundamental and technical analysis of investment products. The position requires collaboration with the Investment Committee and supports the management of the CAAMS Suite of Investment Programs, while working with minimal supervision and making decisions within an established range.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, and implement model portfolios.
  • Interact with and support separate account managers.
  • Conduct analysis and research of investment products available to CA/Lincoln Financial advisors.
  • Participate in CAI Investment Committee and contribute to discussions on internal programs, asset allocation, and the overall investment environment.
  • Assist in the education and promotion of the CAAMS/Lincoln Suite of Programs through various means including conference calls and written articles.
  • Act as a resource for Financial Advisors regarding investment and product inquiries.
  • Assist with due diligence of liquid and illiquid investment programs, vehicles, and instruments.
  • Keep abreast of market conditions, economics, and investment ideas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Valid Series 7 and 63 licenses.
  • Experience in equity, fixed income, and mutual fund trading.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting portfolio analysis and making purchasing and rebalancing recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of Morningstar, Bloomberg, and/or other research tools.
  • Proven strong analytical skills and ability to resolve moderately complex problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CIMA or CFA/Candidate preferred.
  • Experience in block trading and model implementation.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and articulate complex information.
