About the position

The Research Analyst position at AM involves supporting project management through qualitative and quantitative research, survey design, and data analysis, particularly in the context of military and Department of Defense operations. The role requires expertise in handling classified material and the ability to translate complex client objectives into actionable research solutions. The analyst will work both independently and as part of a small team, focusing on assessments of operations in the information environment and utilizing various data sources for comprehensive analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of operations in the information environment.
  • Obtain and analyze open-source unclassified survey and assessment data from online sources, in-person surveys, and subscription data sources.
  • Integrate open-source data with classified operational data for assessments of operations activities and investments (OAIs).
  • Translate client objectives into actionable survey and focus group instruments that meet campaign objectives and assessment criteria.
  • Ensure all surveys and focus groups are representative of the target population and achieve the highest possible response rates, developing sample selection plans using accepted statistical methods.
  • Generate and manage achievable project timelines and deliverable schedules.
  • Manage the overall and individual Quality Control Plans.
  • Analyze survey and focus group data using accepted statistical practices.
  • Utilize and manage access to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software for data analysis dashboards and visualization tools to create detailed reports, analyses, and visualizations related to client project data.
  • Ensure all analysis and survey results are accessible and easily comprehensible to clients.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate research on social media platforms to analyze reach, impact, behavior, and sentiment trends among target audiences.
  • Organize and process digital data from various publicly available information and subscription sources into reports and analyses.
  • Analyze publicly available and commercially sourced market and consumer trend data for selected countries, organizations, and companies as directed by the client.
  • Develop search queries using Boolean logic and/or other coding languages to facilitate online searches.
  • Draft and provide various reports and presentations detailing assessment results and insights.
  • Present findings in clear, concise reports and presentations with data visualizations that are easily understood by experts and non-experts alike.
  • Support the organization of meetings and manage and facilitate attendance, invitations, registrations, and reminders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years of experience in an operational environment directly involved in Information Operations, intelligence, data science, social science, or qualitative and quantitative surveys/polling.
  • At least one year's experience planning, managing, and implementing qualitative and quantitative research and analysis projects involving content and thematic analysis, coding/categorization of textual data, and proficiency with software such as MAXQDA or NVivo.
  • Understanding of research design, methodology, and statistical analysis, as well as experience with data management, data cleaning, data visualization, developing assessments, reports, and making recommendations based on available data.
  • Some experience in quantitative analysis, including statistical analysis, data visualization, and correlative analysis, with proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, MS Excel, or SPSS.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments of operations in the information environment, specifically with open-source unclassified and classified data integration.
  • Experience handling classified material at the SECRET level.
  • Experience conducting analysis of all and open-source intelligence in support of operations in the information environment.
  • Active SECRET security clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to provide translation services in Spanish (minimum in reading and writing).
