In your role, you will be responsible for preparing company overviews for account teams, researching companies, developing target lists, and identifying potential candidates using various online and proprietary tools. You will also engage in calling companies to determine their organizational structure. The position offers a clear career path, with opportunities for promotion to Associate, which involves extensive client contact and business development responsibilities. Additionally, successful candidates may advance to more senior research roles, such as Knowledge Manager, within specific sectors or Centers of Excellence (COE). Your responsibilities will also include managing data quality in the proprietary Client Resource Management (CRM) system, actively participating in business development strategies, and providing research support for candidate identification. You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the search and research needs of internal clients, ensuring high levels of client and candidate service. Furthermore, you will collaborate on proprietary market intelligence projects, tracking industry trends and reporting your findings to the team. The first year will focus on mastering the researcher role and effectively managing multiple research requests from various search teams.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing company overviews for account teams
  • Researching companies and developing target lists
  • Identifying potential candidates from a variety of online and proprietary tools
  • Calling companies to determine organization structure
  • Consistently inputting and updating highly confidential candidate records in the proprietary Client Resource Management (CRM)
  • Actively participating in designing the search and business development strategy with the Partner and Consultant
  • Providing research in support of candidate identification and business development activities
  • Attending and/or listening in on kick-off meetings and client briefings/meetings
  • Developing a full understanding of the search and the research needs of internal clients
  • Teaming up on proprietary market intelligence projects and proactively identifying organizational trends

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree from a well-regarded institution
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products and databases such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Lexis-Nexis
  • Intelligence and intellectual curiosity about people and business
  • High energy level to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Outstanding communication skills, especially on the telephone
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and unstructured environment
  • Strong organizational skills and resourcefulness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Discretion in handling confidential information

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with online research tools like LinkedIn, Capital IQ, BoardEx, Pitchbook, ZoomInfo
  • Previous experience in a research or analytical role
  • Knowledge of industry fundamentals and trends
