About the position

The Analyst, Research position at Newmark involves collaborating with the research services team to ensure daily database management and integrity. The role is pivotal in conducting market analysis, research, and reporting for the Transaction, Corporate, and Institutional Services Groups. The analyst will participate in establishing procedures for acquiring, entering, and verifying real estate marketing data related to properties, listings, tenants, and comparable transactions across all divisions covered by the district offices. Maintaining the integrity of market data used in research functions is crucial, which includes overseeing data collection, input, verification, and review by sales personnel. In addition to data management, the analyst will be responsible for addressing data quality issues and maintaining a policy of data security both within and outside the office. The role requires the aggregation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of market research data from both internal and external sources. Close collaboration with associates to address their research needs is essential, as is the ability to formulate text and graphics for regular market information reports. The analyst will also monitor the research capabilities of local market competition and understand all software programs utilized within the research function. The position involves researching and recommending new programs for maintaining research information, evaluating new sources and existing products, and understanding all purchased research-related data sources, including tax record information and tenant prospect databases. A thorough knowledge of operations performed by client services staff is expected, and the analyst may assist in training new staff, interns, and brokers/sales staff in company software programs. Promoting the research function and its capabilities to brokers and sales staff is also a key responsibility. Compliance with corporate mandates for reporting market statistics and coordinating requests between the local office and company resources is required. The analyst will maintain the research reference library and participate in establishing an annual research business plan with the Client Services Manager/District Manager. Additionally, conducting web searches for pertinent data related to local, regional, and national trends influencing the commercial real estate market is part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, real estate, finance, urban planning, or business administration.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in real estate analysis, market research, or a related field.
  • Extensive database and project management experience.
  • Project and staff management experience.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
