About the position

The Research Analyst role at Newmark involves collaborating with the research team to support brokers with their research needs, producing both recurring and custom research content, and managing data collection and databases. The position focuses on the Southeast region, particularly Texas and Florida, and requires a strong analytical background to ensure data integrity and quality in real estate market research.

Responsibilities

  • Establish procedures for acquiring, entering, and verifying real estate market data related to properties, listings, tenants, and comparable transactions.
  • Maintain market data integrity and oversee data collection, input, verification, and review by salespeople.
  • Address data quality issues and maintain data security policies.
  • Aggregate, analyze, interpret, and report market research data from internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate with associates to address research needs and create text and graphics for market information reports.
  • Monitor local market competition's research capabilities.
  • Understand and utilize all software programs used in the research function.
  • Research and recommend new programs for maintaining research information.
  • Evaluate new sources and existing products for research-related data.
  • Understand purchased research-related data sources, including tax records and ownership information.
  • Assist in training new staff and interns on company software programs.
  • Promote the research function and its capabilities to brokers and sales staff.
  • Comply with corporate mandates for reporting market statistics and coordinate with corporate research staff.
  • Maintain the research reference library and recommend new subscriptions.
  • Attend divisional specialty meetings and present research activities.
  • Conduct web searches for data related to local, regional, and national trends in commercial real estate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, or Business Administration.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Power BI and Python is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
