About the position

The Research Analyst position involves conducting qualitative and quantitative research to support nonprofit, corporate, and government initiatives. The role includes developing research plans, collecting and analyzing data, and writing comprehensive research reports. The analyst will work collaboratively with project managers and present findings to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with quality standards and protecting sensitive information throughout the research process.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes appropriate methods and techniques to compile information needs and develop research and analysis plans.
  • Develops survey instruments and analysis tools for qualitative and quantitative studies, including questionnaires and sampling plans.
  • Performs analyses for survey research, focus groups, interviews, and other studies based on formalized project plans.
  • Supports project execution by coordinating activities through study planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepares data sets for analysis using available software tools and established data standards.
  • Conducts secondary data searches, reviews, and analyses in accordance with formalized research plans.
  • Synthesizes quantitative and qualitative data into key facts and detailed findings.
  • Writes reports, prepares presentations, and creates charts, tables, and graphs for research reports.
  • Presents results of work to the project director and assists in preparing study documentation and progress reports.
  • Documents procedures and methods used to protect data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conducts work in compliance with policies and procedures to protect sensitive information.
  • Follows established research plans to ensure quality research outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field (Psychology, Marketing, Sociology, Political Science, Public Health, Economics, Statistics, etc.).
  • 3-5 years' experience designing and conducting research, analyzing and interpreting data, and writing research finding reports.
  • Experience with research, data and statistical analysis, and writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adjust priorities when needed.
  • Strong time management skills, work ethic, and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to utilize analytical tools for quantitative data (SPSS, R, STATA) or qualitative data (NVIVO).
  • Ability to run descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistics and interpret statistical output.
