The firm specializes in providing sophisticated economic, statistical, forensic, and financial analyses to prominent companies and law firms. The Research Analyst position is a full-time, hourly role that plays a crucial part in the firm's operations, particularly within the Labor and Employment Practice. This practice focuses on matters related to Wage and Hour or Discrimination litigation, providing analysis and support for various employment-related claims. As a Research Analyst, you will be involved in the data creation and document management aspects of casework. This includes tasks such as data entry, data collection through video and in-person observations, researching publicly available data sources, and reviewing documents. You will also assist with administrative duties related to casework, such as copying documents, preparing binders, and traveling to client sites for document management. The role offers an opportunity to gain insights into the consulting environment and understand how economics is applied within the legal system. Although not mandatory, there is an option to learn statistical analysis using SAS through provided training modules. The position requires a commitment to detail and a strong work ethic, as the analyses performed can significantly influence legal outcomes and workplace policies. Research Analysts will work collaboratively with staff at all levels, contributing to the quality control of casework and assisting in various research tasks. Responsibilities

  • Database creation
  • Data entry
  • Video observation
  • On-site surveys and/or observation studies
  • Creating charts and graphs in Excel
  • Internet research; deep dive research
  • Researching additional data sources (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census, etc.)
  • Assisting staff at all levels with casework tasks and quality control
  • Reviewing and summarizing documents
  • Travel may be required
  • Ad hoc duties that relate to casework

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Liberal arts majors welcome, including English, History, Classics, etc.)
  • High level of competence using Windows-based computers (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong Internet research skills
  • Ability to work in a team and solo environment
  • Strong attention to detail

Benefits

  • Base hourly rate of $30.00 for non-overtime work hours
