About The Position

The Research Analyst position within the EEPC's Research Unit focuses on conducting research related to equal employment opportunity (EEO) and producing reports in compliance with New York City Local Law 13 of 2019. The role involves analyzing the municipal workforce to address underutilization of women and people of color, and making recommendations to improve recruitment, selection, retention, and promotion of City employees.

Requirements

• A master's degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental science, or public health for Assignment Level I.
• A doctorate degree in an appropriate field of specialization and one year of full-time experience in a supervisory, administrative, or research capacity for Assignment Level II and above.
• A master's degree and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field for Assignment Level II and above.
• At least two years of experience in the relevant field, with substitutions allowed for City Research Scientist Level I.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analyses for various reports required by Local Law 13.
• Write scripts in statistical programs to clean and organize large datasets.
• Perform analyses of large datasets using statistical methods such as regressions and time series analyses.
• Develop tables and figures for publications.
• Create survey instruments and interview/focus group protocols.
• Stay updated on research studies and legislation to identify emerging trends in labor markets and employment practices.
