About the position

The Research Analyst at Desert Financial Credit Union plays a crucial role in supporting the research function by conducting essential tasks that inform strategic initiatives across the organization. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather and analyze data, ensuring that research projects yield actionable insights that drive decision-making and strategy development.

Responsibilities

  • Support market research efforts in partnership with the Office of Strategy and Management and various Lines of Business.
  • Assist in designing, planning, and conducting primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Complete the analysis of data from interviews, focus groups, and questionnaires to build insights and data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to design consumer questionnaires that meet research objectives.
  • Consult on research methodologies and statistical analysis.
  • Support project management efforts related to the research function.
  • Act as a liaison with external research providers to ensure projects are conducted on budget and schedule.
  • Communicate project status, scope, and timeline changes to stakeholders.
  • Manage internal audience lists for surveys and develop targeting strategies to reduce survey fatigue.
  • Contribute to the production of primary market research studies and reports that inform transformation strategy.
  • Establish systems for knowledge dissemination and identify methods to inform business questions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure research meets objectives and manage internal audience lists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field required.
  • 4+ years of experience using advanced statistical techniques, primary research, survey techniques, methodology, and reporting required.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling required.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques required.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail required.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously required.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while taking initiative and working independently as needed required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in a financial institution or credit union environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL and databases for data extraction, transformation, and integration preferred.
  • Experience with web data tools like Optimizely and Google Cloud Platform preferred.
