About the position

The Research Analyst at Boyd Watterson Asset Management is responsible for providing comprehensive research and analytical support for the real estate line of business. This role involves portfolio management, acquisitions, market and sector research, business and product development, and dispositions. The analyst will work closely with various teams to create and update models, reports, and investment memos, while also building relationships with potential partners and market participants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the process of creating and updating models to provide an investment profile of all company's funds based on tenant credit, fund liquidity, and market scores.
• Create, update, and present quarterly portfolio reports to support portfolio managers of the Diversified, UBP, and State Funds.
• Coordinate with different teams to verify information including Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Acquisition, Investor Relationship, and Marketing.
• Build and update deal reports for potential acquisition targets of Diversified REIT as requested by the head of acquisition team and head of fundamental research.
• Support deal report analysis on State properties and coordinate with internal team members and external advisors to evaluate potential target assets.
• Source deals through public information such as RFPs from State, County, City's websites and broker's reports.
• Lead the process of creating and updating quarterly reports to support the Investment Policy Committee's understanding of the real estate market.
• Draft investment memos based on internal and external datasets, public research, and communication with market participants.
• Create and update sector research to support the company's business expansion into new sectors such as Life Science, Medical Office, and Student Housing.
• Build and maintain relationships in targeted markets with brokers, developers, and owners to understand local real estate fundamentals.
• Assist firm's CO-CIO and portfolio managers in designing new products through market performance studies.
• Attend conferences and site visits to build relationships and source properties.
• Lead the process of creating and updating disposition models to provide a list of potential targets to sell based on asset fundamentals and market conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of real estate experience preferred.
• CFA enrollment preferred, certification a plus.
• ARGUS certification a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office products required, certification a plus.
• Strong relationship development and communication skills.
• Great work ethic and reliability as a team member.
• Passion for learning.
