About the position

The Research Analyst at WittKieffer plays a crucial role in supporting search assignments and new business development through comprehensive research and analysis. This position involves collaborating with consultants to evaluate candidates, develop identification strategies, and ensure successful search outcomes. The Research Analyst will also manage research projects, analyze data, and contribute to knowledge management efforts within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage research projects associated with search assignments and business development.
  • Identify appropriate target organizations and candidates using internal and external resources.
  • Develop new strategies and resources for candidate identification as needed.
  • Analyze organization and candidate profiles to determine priority targets for assignments.
  • Act as a power user of the WittKieffer database.
  • Research individuals, organizations, and industry issues to support business development and thought leadership.
  • Gather compensation data for job titles from various sources.
  • Evaluate work history and education to determine candidate fitness.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and monitor trade publications for new business leads.
  • Add newly identified individuals to the WittKieffer database and update existing records.
  • Coordinate the sending of search letters and placing of advertisements with Research Operations colleagues.
  • Partner closely with Associates and Senior Associates to ensure focused research efforts.
  • Develop and implement a research strategy for each search, communicating progress with the Search team.
  • Assist other Research Analysts with overflow tasks.
  • Participate in monthly research staff meetings to share resources and strategies.
  • Initiate strategy start-up meetings with the search team for new assignments.
  • Review trade publications and update consultants on industry changes.
  • Provide suggestions for changes to Research Strategy processes.
  • Document research strategies and resources used on assignments.
  • Build a network of information sources to enhance internal research capabilities.
  • Contribute to the growth of the knowledge management repository.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in executive search or similar professional services research function preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proven success in creative problem solving.
  • Ability to present and communicate information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable using reference materials, databases, social media, and online searching tools.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, higher education, or not-for-profit industries is a plus.
