About the position

The Research Analyst position at AQR Capital Management involves conducting in-depth research and data analysis to support the development and maintenance of trading strategies. The role requires collaboration with researchers and portfolio managers to optimize portfolios, manage risks, and develop quantitative investment strategies. The analyst will engage in statistical and economic research on financial data, implement investment strategies, and enhance the proprietary research system.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and data analysis for portfolio optimization and risk management.
  • Collaborate with researchers and portfolio managers to develop and maintain trading strategies.
  • Engage in the development of quantitative investment strategies.
  • Perform statistical and economic research on financial data related to systematic strategies.
  • Assist portfolio managers in implementing investment strategies.
  • Add features to the proprietary research system to implement new research ideas.
  • Design and develop research infrastructure for economic and statistical research.
  • Apply linear algebra and optimization techniques to portfolio construction and signal generation.
  • Utilize panel and time-series econometrics methods on financial data.
  • Apply statistical principles to financial data analysis.
  • Program data analysis in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Perform SQL programming for data storage and analysis.
  • Conduct data visualization, summarization, and analytics in Excel.
  • Apply economic and financial concepts involving equity markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in applying linear algebra and optimization techniques to portfolio construction and signal generation.
  • Knowledge of panel and time-series econometrics methods applied to financial data.
  • Proficiency in statistics principles for financial data analysis.
  • Programming experience in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • SQL programming skills for data storage and analysis.
  • Experience in data visualization, summarization, and analytics in Excel.
  • Understanding of economic and financial concepts involving equity markets.
