The Research Analyst position at the Kansas Department of Revenue involves verifying information on real estate sales transfers to determine if the transaction is a qualified indicator of fair market value. This role is crucial for developing samples for the annual sales ratio study. The work entails a thorough review of the Kansas Real Estate Sales Validation Questionnaire, conducting internet research, and performing telephone interviews with various stakeholders including buyers, sellers, agents, brokers, managers, attorneys, investors, and county appraisers. The position is classified as unclassified and is a full-time role with a regular schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The compensation for this role ranges from $17.39 to $19.65 per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications. The position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid leave for various circumstances such as parental leave and military leave. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least six months of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative, or administrative data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Preferred experience includes real estate, call center, customer service, and statistical survey interview experience. Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail are also preferred.
